Technical Director

Job Summary (Primary Purpose)

As the Technical Director, you will support client projects, presales activity, and contribute to the overall Integration Center of Excellence (CoE) in Barcelona, Spain. The ideal candidate will be thought leader in integration space with numerous project deployments both domestic and international. This position will lead the team that is responsible for building high quality services as part of DerbySoft’s Connectivity platform that serves the online travel industry and developing and optimizing its technical components.

  • Collaborate with engineering team, solution engineers, client managers and customers, ensure the solution/service delivered on time according to business requirements
  • Leading project planning sessions, manage project progress and adapt work as required, ensure projects meet deadlines
  • Coordinating the development of user manuals, training materials, and other documents as needed to enable successful implementation and turnover of the process
  • Build and lead an engineering team of 10-15 employees
  • Provide leadership, technical expertise, and business knowledge to stakeholders and systems department personnel in support of enterprise integration solution.
  • Responsible for technical management, defining technical standards strategy and training.
  • Build trust with your customer through strategic thought, exceptional execution, and technical depth and expertise.

  • Act as a technical client contact and point of escalation for technical issues.
  • Collaborate with solution engineers and client managers while ensuring the features and solutions are designed, assessed, and delivered according to defined business requirements and the highest quality standards.
  • Responsible for core technical components development and optimization.
  • Responsible for code review, unit testing and automation testing to ensure the code quality meets standards.
  • Helps to ensure technical documentation delivery.
  • Ensure adherence to sound architecture and platform standards and best practices
  • Create scalable and manageable designs and implement enterprise integrations with industry standard technologies, utilizing Spring / Spring Boot / Spring Cloud、Mybatis / Hibernate / JPA etc opensource framework – sending this in text to you

Experience and Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree or above or commensurate industry experience.
  • Minimum 8 years of Java development experience.
  • Minimum 2 years of supervisory experience.
  • Technical qualification:
    • Spring / Spring Boot / Spring Cloud, Mybatis, Hibernate, JPA, etc. open source framework and has the ability for secondary development.
    • Code version management tools such as Git or SVN.
    • Unit testing frameworks such as Junit / Easy Mock/ Spockframework
    • Code build tools such as Ant, Gradle or Maven
  • Demonstrated ability to negotiate conflicting objectives and create alignment across functional teams.
  • Experience in the online travel industry a plus
