On November 31, 2019, DerbySoft hosted a successful China Customer Conference at the Minyoun Chengdu Dongda Hotel in Chengdu, Sichuan province in China. Over 100 industry-leading experts were in attendance from hotels, distribution channels, airlines, TMCs, hotel data companies and travel industry media outlets. This year’s conference was themed Listening, Creating and Advancing Together, which emphasized how DerbySoft aims to listen to their customers’ needs and suggestions, give value to the industry and create business together.
DerbySoft’s Co-Founder and CEO, Ted Zhang, opened the conference by highlighting the company’s history and explained the steps the company is taking to continue its growth and development.
David He, Vice President and General Manager of the China business unit, followed Ted by opening up a discussion about the current state of the China travel market and what we all can learn from the past so we can correct the future of the travel industry.
DerbySoft invited special guest presenters to speak on an array of topics relating to the travel industry. Christine Lu, Regional Manager of North Asia for STR, showcased the latest STR hotel data referencing hotel occupancy and hotel room pipelines between cities through big data.
Joseph Wang, Chief Business Officer for TravelDaily, spoke on innovations with hotels and on-site guest experiences before serving as the moderator for a lively and humorous panel discussion about hotel innovations. The panel consisted of Feng Jie, Senior Consultant at Meituan, Lan Yan, President of CNbooking, Will Shao, Distribution Director of InterContinental Hotels Groups Greater China, Shao Yong, General Manager of Marketing and Sales at Wanda Hotels and Resorts, and Tracey Chen, Senior Director of DerbySoft’s TMC Services.
Feng Jie followed the panel discussion with a presentation focusing on how to make integrated marketing an evergreen plan, and Jerry Jiao, Director of Digital Application at Club Med, presented on the digital transformations currently at Club Med.
DerbySoft intended for the China Customer Conference to be a place where partners could come together, freely exchange ideas and build business, and in the end, DerbySoft accomplished all this and proved the company is taking big steps to make the travel business easier.
