April 15, 2020– With new and unpredictable travel restrictions arising with the pandemic evolution, it is extremely important to make travelers feel confident. One way to do this is to provide flexibility. Your customers want to know that in case of a disrupted travel, they are able to postpone or cancel their reservation. If you have a free cancellation policy, showing that information early in the booking process can improve your property’s conversion rates.
That’s why Trivago has revised its Free Cancellation Policy to better meet the expectations of its users.
As per Trivago’s statement, “The Free Cancellation rate attribute can now be displayed for any rate that can be cancelled without incurring a penalty, regardless of the cancellation deadline specified by the advertiser (e.g. 3 days prior to arrival, 24 hours before arrival, etc.)
Free cancellation is an increasingly important factor for Trivago users, and we want to ensure that they’re aware of this option when looking to book. If a booking is made, it’s still your responsibility to inform them of your own policy and deadlines.”
